Located in South America, Brazil occupies the central-eastern part of the continent. Provide an extensive range of land borders (15,719 km), but merely with almost all South American countries (except Chile and Ecuador). It also has an extensive coastline (7,367 km), all of which drain into the Atlantic Ocean.
Brazil is located west of the meridian of Greenwich or initial, to stand, therefore, entirely in the Western Hemisphere. It is cut on the north by the equator and has 7% of their land in the northern hemisphere and 93% in the southern hemisphere. To the south, is cut by the Tropic of Capricorn, with 92% of its territory in the intertropical zone, that is, between the Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn. The remaining 8% are in the temperate zone of the south, between the Tropic of Capricorn and the Antarctic Circle.
